Sometimes a woman needs to pack her bags and head to Paris, because as Audrey Hepburn said, “Paris is always a good idea.”

Tonya Leigh visited Paris for the first time over a decade ago after fantasizing about the city she’d read about in books and seen on TV.  During that trip, she took a stroll through the Jardin du Luxembourg and noticed lovers kissing, women sitting by the fountain reading books, mothers having picnics with their children, well-dressed older men playing boules. She said aloud, “These people are French Kissing Life,” and a movement was born — one of living with more elegance, style and joie de vivre. For six years, Tonya has hosted a luxury retreat where women step away from the demands of daily life and reconnect to their femininity and joie de vivre.

I was invited to be a part of this year’s retreat as the photographer, part of which included a boudoir shoot for each lady.

Here’s what Tonya had to say about the experience:
I could not have chosen a better photographer for this experience. I knew I wanted to push the ladies out of their comfort zone while also making them feel safe and beautiful.  Ian was the perfect person to meet my expectations. To see the joy on their faces as we played in front of the camera for two days was beyond my wildest dreams.  But, the best part was when they received their images.  Every single woman loved theirs.  These photos will be memories their 90-year old selves will celebrate one day. As for my shoot with Ian, what wasn’t to love?  He is not only a joy to be with and extremely talented with a camera, but he makes a woman feel at ease…with a little help of Champagne!
