Seventeen Years of Loyalty, Love, and Light – A Paris Family Portrait with Julia, Jackson & TJ

When Julia and Jackson reached out about a family session in Paris, they weren’t just marking a moment in their travels. They were honoring a constant in their lives: TJ, their 17-year-old dog who has been with them since the beginning.

TJ isn’t just a pet—he’s family. He’s witnessed their story unfold year after year, across cities and seasons, and photographing the three of them in Paris felt less like a photoshoot and more like capturing a legacy.

We kept things simple. A gentle walk through the Palais-Royal, soft morning light, wrapping things up with a morning coffee on a café terrace. TJ led the photoshoot at his own pace, dignified and unhurried. The result? A series of portraits that feel tender, timeless, and filled with presence.

For me, this is what portrait photography is truly about—not perfection, but meaning. It’s about preserving the irreplaceable connection between people (and sometimes, paws) who’ve shared real life together.
